Footvolley (futevôlei) is played almost entirely with the feet, chest, shoulders and head. That changes what a ball needs to be:

The 4 things to check before you buy
1. How long is the break-in period?
Most balls arrive stiff and soften over weeks or months of play. The real question is how long you have to wait. A ball that feels good from the first session saves you an entire uncomfortable phase.
2. Water and sand resistance
Look for a sealed outer coating and tight seams. A ball that absorbs water gets heavy, loses its shape and dies within a season.
3. Weight and wind stability
Rarely discussed, genuinely important: a ball that is too light gets pushed around by sea breeze, which ruins both circle play and net rallies. Slightly more weight gives you a predictable flight.
4. Size
Size 5 is the standard for footvolley, the same size as a regulation football, but softer and lighter in feel.
